And we beat on and on and ON (and on!), yachts against da current, into the motherfuckin' past!!

I love this song, in a lighthearted way. What's with this "white people who don't have real problems" bullshit that keeps coming up? Stupid "non-conformist" punk douchebags. Keep on fighting the man / hippies!

True. He just rubs me the one way, and I more meant he's a coward when it comes to his witchy girlfriend manipulating him.

Meh, the point of the whole show (to me) is that the idea of the 'righteous' and 'true' king or people is absurd - at this stage it's just a series of greedy, murderous men fighting for what is "theirs". Stannis is a coward and a pretty boring character as well; I don't want him to claim the throne! I really thought

So Marnie is an awesome guitarist (kind of yes and no; her tapping style can feel a bit stale at times), but an awful singer. Thus she wisely chose to focus on her singing rather than her guitar playing on her new album. If you don't have a headache midway through the album, you're doing really well.

Not quite as awesome / punchy as C'mon, but Im really digging this one already - So Blue and Just Make it Stop especially. Definitely a band critics usually take for granted; spend 2 minutes writing the review. Good one

Just watched "Beats, Rhymes and Life…" and the bit where Prince Paul is like "why the fuck wasn't I on the Midnight Marauders cover?" was hilarious :)

Yeah, I guess I kinda meant 'of bands who are taken seriously by people' = there are A LOT of people who would disagree with me (including people with otherwise ok taste). Also, Foreigner wrote "Cold as Ice"!

Don't forget "Material Girl" = a high-class gangbang waiting to happen!

HUMA-DO MANO, MANEENENENAH (Anthony Kiedis "rapping") into melancholy, harmony-based sung chorus = Every chilli peppers song!

Red Hot Chilli Peppers = worst popular band in the history of the world, ever, for all time.

I agree the whole concept began to make more sense as the episode progressed, and Lena really sold how OCD isn't quirky but distress/exhausting. However I HATED the therapist character, such a typical 'Hollywood' conception of a distant, cold, self-absorbed therapist. Although I live in Australia, and maybe US

What's Hulk doing reading a Slate article at all? Of course it's going to be offensive and fucking stupid. His points are always very good; I wish he would cut out the schtick, really

Worst song. This was the "Somebody that I used to know" of whatever the fuck year it came out. Just awful, AVCLUB!

This album's awesome, it's great to hear these two sing together again - the Letting Go is one of my all time fave Will Oldham albums

Absolutely, the sounds are so crucial in both films. The use of Ligeti/Bartok obviously, but also things like the weird background noises when Danny and Halloran are talking about shining, and the 'heartbeats' when Jack is walking through room 237.

Im actually hoping the DVD release is super extended — there's (naturally) not enough time to discuss all that's hidden in the film / all the theories, but I wanted to know more (cause I'm obsessed). In particular, I was fascinated by the lady who discusses how the film relates to Greek mythology, but she was given

Have you seen the TV series that King got made? It's a 'good' adaptation (no changes from the book) but a horrendously dull and dreary film; Kubrick's film can stand on its own, and is enhanced by the changes he made.
