100% agree. Blame the 80s. I love Knopfler's score for "Local Hero," but it needs something more like Erich Wolfgang Korngold.

I also love the last scene when he's kissing the girl and camera pulls out to Martin's "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes."

I always thought there was some woman he secretly felt that way about, but given the fact that he is a psychopath that probably doesn't make sense.

Not to mention any of the scenes with Julee Cruise, both in the series and the movie.
