It's a matter of personal taste. I appreciate Pink Moon but its a bit bare for me. I prefer Bryter Layter's richness and warmth.

I'll put in a word here for Nick Drake. He recorded 3 relatively short studio albums before dying of an overdose, probably a suicide. One, Five Leaves Left, is good; another, Pink Moon, is very good; another, Bryter Layter, is a masterpiece. I don't know if he's really influential enough, but he's pretty great, and

Of course, Bob Einstein is also famous as Larry from Arrested Development. "He's worth every penny."

Blah blah blah bi-furious.

Successful secondsies.

Agreed. I was on an airplane that had "The Tooth Fairy" on as an option, and I thought why the hell not. Turns out, it wasn't that bad, or at least not disgraceful. There were some nice bits from Billy Crystal and Julie Andrews, and the Rock and Stephen Merchant make a good team, though it's because the Rock isn't bad

Hey, if we have too many composers here, we're going to have to start making a Liszt.

From an interview with the director: "'Cry Baby Lane' is a ghost story that I grew up with in Ohio," he said. "There was a haunted farmhouse, and if you went up there at midnight, you could hear a baby crying and it'd make your high school girlfriend scared, so I just kinda expanded on that, pitched it as an idea and

So wait, are you saying "The Guard" is better than "In Bruges"?
"…it's no surprise the films' dark sensibilities are closely related; but The Guard is a warmer, more resonant work, fully centered on Gleeson's richly drawn character."

Diane Franklin Appreciation Thread
She's really cute, and having only seen her in this and "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," I've never heard speak in a non-ridiculous accent.

I'm not a big fan of this movie, and I particularly hate Richard Curtis, but I think this sequence definitely earns its place on this list. Great song and it's done really well. In my opinion the best scenes in Richard Curtis films are the ones where the characters don't talk. See also the end of Love, Actually with

Good, I was looking for a thread about "Easy A" to bitch on. Easily the worst, or at least most disappointing movie I saw last year. What a way to waste an incredible cast (Stone, Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Thomas Haden Church, Malcolm McDowell, etc.) with constant overacting, a putrid script, and a plot that at its

If you like we could be Pipper partners, and go on Pipper digs, and I could play you something from Bone Machine!
