samesies :(

Parks where are you :-(

Yeah, which is weird to me, because the "general public" seems to like police procedurals more than they like science fiction shows… So why not market it like it was a cop show and let those of us who prefer the sci-fi be surprised by its sci-fi tendencies?

What else is on? Cleveland Indians @ Boston Red Sox! Derek Lowe's second start at Fenway since winning the World Series with the Red Sox in 2004. I think that I'm the most excited person in all of Boston for this because it's the only time the Indians are in town all year, and this is probably only going to be

You've clearly been avoiding True Blood. Although now I'm completely confused about the mechanics of vampire boners, what with them having no circulation. Totally appropriate way to spend an afternoon at work.

I've been getting so sad every week watching the show and essentially waiting for cancellation. I did the same thing with Fringe the back-half of this season, I got too sad to watch. So, hooray all around!

Me too! I thought "well, at least it was quick." Ohhhh pre-upfront time period, you make me nervous.

Man, the commenters on E! Online are a scary reminder of what lies beyond AVClub….

How can you not?

I recently found a piece I wrote (while day-dreaming about becoming a television critic) about how I was giving this show 6-episode probation, from what feels like a lifetime ago but was of course only from last fall. It really didn't help that I read Bissinger's "After Friday Night Lights" piece over the past couple of days. Texas forever.

I don't ever begrudge this show anything, but I'm still a little sensitive to any show using the name of the last episode of Friday Night Lights!

Beautifully put (said the daughter of a shrink who also grew up on these books)

I just finished this last week, and I don't think I've ever read any better baseball writing than the sport scenes at the end of the book. It was suspenseful and had the perfect cadence - I felt like I was at a game.

“You cannot write for children. They're much too complicated. You can only write books that are of interest to them.”
RIP Maurice Sendak. Your books and pictures and theater sets formed so much of my childhood. Thank you for teaching children and adults alike about wild rumpuses and the importance of caring and that

If only.

Yo mama jokes…. Ice skating for fun not to save life.

Be nicer to Coach or he'll go live with another group of white people!!!
