I completely agree with you. This show does more with a few minutes of silence than most shows do with hours of dialogue.

Hey, they held on to Grady Sizemore, so there's something pretty in that city. Probably unhealthy and unproductive, but very pretty nonetheless.

Me too, but I came back for this season… And have stayed for Homeland. Homeland is over 100% worth my $10 a month Showtime subscription.

But in the books, doesn't Deb know from fairly early on what Dex is up to? I can't stand the books so I haven't read beyond the first one, but I can see how that major plot difference would lend itself to the ability to go on and on forever in somewhat episodic form, whereas this will pretty much spell the end for the

The majestic mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania are called the Poconos, and Scranton is in their foothills. While I generally followed a "just say no to the Poconos" rule when I lived in Philadelphia, and I realize I walk up bigger hills on a daily basis living in San Francisco, I think it's unfair for you to be

This was an excellent Thursday for Kroll. He also wrote this episode of the League with Scheer.

Ion Town!

Here's my question for Todd: has glee had more stopped amd dropped storylines than American Horror Story? Because I think they're about even, but we all give AHS a pass since it's paranormal anyway. Rate the Murphy show against the Murphy show!

His father is gay and everything I've read about Mike White says he's openly bisexual.

I understand the concern about turnover, but these are long traditions and it's as much about the group and its history as it is the individuals in this particular iteration.

@Dog is my copilot - I want to say thank you for that comment - I think it was the most poignant comment I've read on AVClub. And I think that it's everything that you describe that makes this show speak volumes about reconciling what you "should" feel with what you do feel or what you want to feel, which also speaks

Ohh, I see what you're saying.  I read your comment too fast and assumed you meant post-Isa/pre-return-to-America. Good question.

So, I'm still at my parents' house for Thanksgiving vacation, and my mom came in while I was watching this episode (I mean, "working from home"). She pointed out to me that Mike White was the son of a former big-time Evangelical pastor who then came out as gay and has since become an advocate for LGBT people. It seems

Yes!! I like your comment.  And yes, all of the politicos we have seen are part of the DNC (kind of much to my surprise).

WAS it Saul and Carrie coming up to the house literally seconds after Brody had left? Or was it cut to look that way? If it was Brody leaving, why was he in a car that didn't belong to him?

The other thing to keep in mind is that while there is only one Air Force One, the president always flies with decoy helicopters.  My parents live in the DC area so I have seen the president's helicopter entourage quite a few times.  There are always three helicopters identical to Marine One. What I don't know is

Well, before, his faith in Nazir was unwavering.  Now he is questioning everything he believes in, so it makes sense that he would ask that kind of question to someone asking for his devotion.

The Aires were robbed! ROBBED! Hopefully they get to do something awesomely high-exposure like the Tufts' Beelzebubs going on to become the Warbler's on Glee. And hopefully next year Penn Six (or Penny Loafers or Mask & Wig) will break through this anti-Ivy (not that Tufts is, but close) glass ceiling that the

Duck fat fries or no deal.

It was a B- episode, and it's my favorite show right now (tied with Parks). I love hanging out with the gang, but they should be universe-building, not introducing a weird new character (even if it is a hilarious Rob Riggle) and then killing him. Also, the Bears-ness rubbed salt in this week's gaping (or dangling)
