That's a lot more thought than I put into it! I just thought it was funny when the guy went "YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY."

Me too! It's the closest I've ever come to walking out of a movie I paid to see.

Frankly, I'd much rather the show embrace its inner 24 at this point than continue pretending to be smart.

I thought that show was pretty good, too. :(

Hey, he could be doing worse - just watch Dreamcatcher if you don't believe me.

No, the Emmys get stuck on one show and then award it best drama 3-4 times before moving on. It will win.

@avclub-de9878e9d33c60263a094abc94fab3f0:disqus You could kinda fudge it and say that Carrie is in her mid 30s and maybe she started working for the CIA right out of college and thus was there in 2001. It's pushing it, though.

Is it really missing Michael Bay's misogyny? The one female character in the movie with more than two lines got in her robot and immediately started having a panic attack and almost destroyed everything until men came to save her like a damsel in distress. Pacific Rim ain't gonna win any awards for feminism.

It's a mix of the name attached to it and internet bandwagon effect.

Come on now. In no way is the somewhat weak box office performance of a movie about CGI giant monsters battling CGI giant robots is "indicative of everything wrong with audience today," even if it is better than Transformers.

Then get Allison Janney, then get Janel Moloney, then revive John Spencer, then phase out the cast of The Newsroom except the three I just mentioned.

The potential GOP candidate lineup for '16 doesn't exactly have me quaking with fear, I'll say that much. If Hillary runs, I think it's hers to lose.

I'm torn on all that, because Sorkin does indeed have an annoying bug up his ass… but I ALSO hate TWoP… it's a conundrum.

I'm continually impressed by Olivia Munn's ability to speak good Sorkinese. Thomas Sadowski and Sam Waterston also do pretty well. But Richard Schiff still did it best, and this show needs a Schiff-type.

Being seen as against gay rights was making Republicans very nervous by mid-to-late 2012, though. Hence the fact that gay marriage wasn't mentioned once at the RNC, while it got mentioned at least a few times at the DNC. I'm super fascinated to see how the Republicans approach it in 2016, when any homophobia will be

That role is sort of filled by Chris Messina and Jane Fonda; unfortunately, they're poorly-used and no Toby Ziegler, that's for sure.

It has been a problem with both this show and Studio 60. There is no doubt something to the fact that Sorkin's better shows - Sports Night and West Wing - respectively contained fake sports news and a fake US government. I think it couldn't hurt, really.

I honestly think I'd like the show about Don and Elliot's newsroom more. Which is kinda funny since way back in the first episode I got the impression we were supposed to be rooting against Don.

I like that Asian guy. He pops!
