Clicked your username, saw your last posts being praise for The Walking Dead's third season finale, closed the tab enjoying a hearty laugh.

My favorite series finale of all time is Friday Night Lights. I honestly think Spartacus might be #2, although it's probably too freshly seared in my brain to be in any way objective. It's a question I'll have to come back to in a few months when I have more emotional distance. I also love The Wire and Angel and

I'd love a Caesar spinoff with Steven DeKnight running it, but with Steven doing his new sci-fi show Incursion it'd probably run by one of his no. 2s on Spartacus… it could easily have a post-Sorkin-West Wing, post-Sherman-Palladino-Gilmore Girls, post-Harmon-Community vibe to it. DeKnight or bust, I say. Hell, if

I feel the same gnawing emptiness knowing that Spartacus is over. I mean there's plenty shows left that I like a lot (Bob's Burgers, Parenthood, Game of Thrones, the also-ending Breaking Bad, Justified, Community S4 to some extent albeit much less than S1-3), but Spartacus was singular to me. Nothing else on TV right

They are making with it, if I'm not mistaken. It's called Incursion and they're casting and writing season 1 now.

Considering how quickly Gods of the Arena was thrown together out of pure necessity, it's kind of amazing how what by all rights should have TV spackle is so thrilling, powerful and awesome.

Yeah. Thanks to McGee for being one of the very tiny percentage of online TV critics to take this show seriously and even passionately, and for providing this space to discuss the show in, which I've especially enjoyed throughout War of the Damned.

He did an amazing job in his death scene.

I got into it because the first season was all up on Netflix Instant, and I started watching on a whim. (Thinking it was kinda crappy at first, then pretty good around episode 4, then really good around episode 6, then, when Varro died, suddenly realizing that there weren't many things lately I'd been so into.) You're

Yes. It's amazing. Just know in advance that it doesn't really figure itself out until episode 4 (or 6, according to some slightly tougher critics).

I guess I'm going to have to root for Clare or McIntyre to get roles in Game of Thrones, because with Spartacus done and Breaking Bad about to end, I guess GoT will be my de facto favorite drama on TV pretty soon. (Or at least my de facto favorite after Parenthood, but I really don't think many Spartacus alumni would

I was holding my breath when Crassus' sword was coming in, and when it cut to Spartacus holding the blade, I let out a full-on, no-bullshit, clenched-fists-in-the-air, spittle-flying, loud-enough-to-wake-the-neighbors "YYEEEEAAAAAAHH!!!!!" I'm sure it would have been pretty embarrassing if anyone had seen.

Instantly and easily one of my favorite TV series finales of all time. It may be second only to "Always" from Friday Night Lights for me. I also love "Not Fade Away" from Angel, but I don't think it made my blood pump the way "Victory" did. (And, fun fact, the writer/director of "Not Fade Away," Jeffrey Bell, wrote

Spartacus' very casual and matter-of-fact equality in this respect was always something to be lauded.

@avclub-9ad2f925a32643f541b183503f33a8c6:disqus Oh man, Peter Mensah would be a kick-ass Jedi Master.

I was just thinking we were gonna get a still image of him, but what they went with… man, full-body chills. Tears to my eyes. Spartacus makes me feel more in its fucking credits than most shows ever accomplish!

It's times like these I wish we could give two separate grades, because I'm about an A- for the first, C+ for the second one. Max's "The Jane." *clears throat* "The Jane." was incredibly funny.

*insert Christopher Nolan backlash here*

Wow, growing from a premiere. That's really rare for scripted network shows. Impressive.

May the gods see Spartacus to glorious end!
