Completely steady 1.6 rating from the premiere. By NBC's low, low, low standards, that's great. If it's able to keep looking like that a while longer, a renewal should be coming.
Is not Steve Buscemi the Steve Buscemi of TV shows and movies?
I just watched an episode of television where a group of people comedically serenading an obese cat on a throne and a school shooting were separated by five minutes. I gave it an F, but if I were to give it any other grade it would be an A, because holy god was this an astonishing, spectacular train wreck. This shit…
I definitely heard that. I spent the rest of the episode waiting for a reveal about what the third shot was, then was confused when there wasn't one.
Oh, if I could but give you 50 "likes" for this post.
Fawlty Towers. Game over.
Even Fringe at its craziest is given a stiff challenge by mushroom-people, I reckon. Though the posthumous interrogation scene in the S4 finale was pretty amazing: http://www.youtube.com/watc…
I haven't watched more than five consecutive minutes of any reality television show since the first season finale of Survivor in August 2000. And I'm ok with that. (This actually made a lot of 30 Rock's "Queen of Jordan" episodes lost on me, though I was able to more or less pick up on what was going on.)
All this talk of what the best comedy currently on television is and nary a mention of Bob's Burgers, the actual best comedy currently on television. Tsk-tsk, AV Club!
Pam used to be all about getting out of Scranton. The thought of living in Scranton indefinitely at one point literally made her cry. Now she's all "fuck Philly, Scranton 4 lyfe!" This is simply maddening.
Those mushroom-people were some of the most sickening and spellbinding imagery I've seen on TV (or in movies) lately. I'm on board with this show, I think.
Whether through science or magic.
Fair enough. Does the fact that it makes me laugh harder than any other show ever has make it good?
As good as seasons 1 and 2? Probably not. But if it achieves season 3 level, I'll still be more than happy.
The two he was missing from were apparently 412 and 413 in the production cycle; this episode is 413 (episode 4x12 is 412, the season finale, which he is in, is 411). So unless my facts are just all wrong, it seems he must have come in for one final day of voiceover/ADR after leaving the show.
I kove all those shows!
So did Chevy Chase come in for a voice recording session for this episode after his quitting/firing/whatever happened? Because that's definitely him talking, and those aren't lines transplanted from another episode.
So like, making magnets? Collecting magnets?
No hamfisted flashbacks? Halle-fuckin'-lujah.
