It's not canceled, but its renewal would be a pretty big surprise.

I liked the duel, but even moreso I loved the immediate aftermath of the duel, where Ragnar's brother immediately kills the Jarl's henchman and the Jarl's wife immediately kills their daughter's husband. It was delightful to see the loose ends dealt with so instantly and brutally.

That is correct.

Best drama on network TV is Parenthood, though Scandal could be considered a solid second.

As for McGee's final inquiry, my favorite episode of the series is, hands down, "Kill Them All", which isn't just my favorite episode of Spartacus but, along with "Always" from Friday Night Lights and "Modern Warfare" from Community, one of my three favorite TV episodes of this decade so far. The way my heart hammered

This episode blew me away. Both the immediately, undeniable awesomeness of the makeshift arena battles, which had me pumping my fist and applauding, but then at Crixus's funeral at the end, when they began calling out the names of the dead in tribute. Full-body goosebumps. Stirring, potent television. Hearing the name

I liked Gods of the Arena when it aired on TV, but I loved it when I rewatched it on DVD a couple months back. I mean, holy shit, but does that thing move like crazy. It's paced like lightning. Almost every second of it is thunderously entertaining.

Basically, with the exception of Ryan McGee, no TV critic on the internet ever paid one iota of attention to anything about Spartacus, so John Hannah's performance gets included in that. It's so fucking bizarre how invisible this show has been in the TV blogosphere for four seasons now.

Game of Thrones is a fantastic show that I love a lot, and, if it goes through the entirety of its story, may end up qualifying as one of my all-time favorites.

Burning down the arena was a pretty singular moment of TV greatness for me. Full-body goosebumps. Cheering out loud. Amazing.

This is Spartacus, baby. If they want Agron up and fighting next episode, you'd better believe he'll fight.

It's an easy 'A' for me. Easily. The "arena" battles had me laughing and pumping my fist and, at at least one point, literally applauding like a fucking crazy person on my couch. As someone who watches 95% of TV drama episodes sitting there motionless with a stone face, it was pretty fucking great to have a show yank

Really great episode! And, as for its Thursday airing, can I just say that it kicks ass to watch Community - Parks and Rec - New Girl all in one go like that? Now ABC just move Happy Endings to after New Girl ends and it'll all be just perfect (for six weeks until Community and Happy Endings get canceled).

I dunno, Ross and Rachel broke up after being together for less than a season and stayed broken up for the next 7 seasons until the series finale. It's not unheard of.

The ideal situation would be two spinoffs, a Gannicus one that is like Hercules: The Legendary Journeys meets Spartacus, and a Caesar one that is like Rome meets Spartacus.

As a matter of fact, one of the few actual thoughts I took away from the two episodes of Animal Practice I watched was that the music sounded a LOT like Community's music, a lot more than New Girl or Happy Endings do. That and Annie's Boobs were the only two things the show had going for it.

Community, New Girl, Happy Endings – Ludwig Goransson is the musical voice of the modern sitcom, no doubt about it!

So amped for Spartacus. Let the gods see this episode send Tiberius to fucking afterlife!

I know this isn't cool to say about Community season 4, but I thought that was a really great episode. Enjoyed it a hell of a lot. Actually teared up just a smidge at the end, which is the first time this show has had that reaction on me in a long time.

Fresco. Fresco fresco fresco.
