We've got security concerns, but I don't think that's most people's reasons. If all those smart devices aren't secured properly, it makes it way too easy for someone to be able to tell when you're on vacation, for example.
Default passwords that were the same across all devices. Nothing could be easier.
They've done some really nice things in Windows 10 from a security standpoint, but from a privacy perspective it's a nightmare. There had to be about a 100 default settings that I had to change when I first upgraded.
The worst thing about Windows 10 is that they've quietly removed the option from the control panel that used to let you require that they ask for permission before rebooting to update. Now, if I have a multi-day processing run that I need to do, the only way to guarantee that my PC doesn't randomly reboot in the…
And really, Trevor Noah is doing a lot better than he gets credit for. When he brings in the international perspective he can be really great. He's doing a surprisingly good job of finding his footing - people just forget how long it took Jon Stewart to get as good as he got.
Hopefully no one's in a huge rush to fix that one.
There's been plenty of times where they gave an awful review to the thing that was showing up in all the ads. There doesn't have to be anything nefarious behind a good review.
It sounds like the same ballpark, although maybe slightly less dark? I think we'll have to watch it to find out. Of course, if that's what it was you'd think they'd make some sort of comparison for reference…
That's…really gross.
I've only read a couple of Mieville's books, so I was just genuinely asking. I think I just read the first book of this series too - it was decent, but not my thing. Looking at publication dates, Reeve probably slightly beat Mieville to the punch (by a year), although I think the books are very, very different. …
I'd have thought a badge holder that says "ISIS" might be more significantly marked down. Aren't they worried about being able to move those?
I'm not breathing a sigh of relief until we've got a new President Clinton, but I sincerely hope he loses. I think that if the economy were doing a little worse Trump would win, and that's a terrifying, sobering thought.
Which one? Was there a Mieville about giant, ambulatory tank cities?
Well, now that you mention it, didn't NWA's debut pretty much coincide with Square One TV?
Having the different time periods should help - new time zones to visit get added as real life time goes on (assuming that all periods up to the "present" get represented in San Junipero).
It seems like he should be suing for breach of contract, if he thinks he was entitled to some part of that deal. I don't really see the line of thinking here.
There's actually been a few times where someone's assumptions about me told me a lot more than they probably intended about themselves. One of those things that's super useful once you know what to look for.
No, he'd have to be brought up on criminal charges, and the criminal investigation didn't find enough evidence to charge anyone. edit: If, for some insane reason, he admitted to a crime in the course of the civil proceedings, then that could be used as evidence in a criminal case, but settling in civil proceedings…
I don't know enough about the economics arguments to weigh in, but he was absolutely right to call her out for feeding in to the birther bullshit, which is what she did there, by saying that it was a topic that warranted discussion, rather than disagreeing. She wanted to have it both ways - not come off as a…
