Eh, amphetamines can cause all sort of nasty mental side effects, and I don't know that that "doctor" of his would necessarily be prescribing him the safest "diet pills".

Well, heavy cocaine usage does lead to paranoia…
- Respect for others
-The respect of others (edit: who aren't white supremacists)
Thanks for the heads up. I'll save that for another time.
Most of the past month was a wash, as I was too worried about some health concerns with Mr Monday to read anything new. He's been declared cancer-free though, so I can focus on things enough to read again. Might read The Shepherd's Crown, the last Discworld book.
Dunno how well researched it is, but I really liked Holly Black's fantasy trilogy about a family of criminals and con artists. The first one was The White Cat.
I really enjoy Mieville's ideas, but tend to have trouble with connecting to his characters. The one I did the best with was his YA novel, Un Lun Dun. Kraken was interesting, but had issues….can't totally remember my specific complaints at this point though.
If it helps, you can really think of it as multiple series that all happen to share the same world. You can read any particular subseries pretty much totally independently of the rest of the Discworld books, so just pick the series starter for the set that sounds most appealing. AVC had a good Gateway to Geekery on…
My 1 year old could listen to Wheels on the Bus nonstop and be happy. She used to clap when she was excited about something, but now she does the wheels motion with her arms as her celebratory gesture.
Fair enough, although that's not the one that plays in my head :)
That's why I'd just play Apples to Apples at a party. Much less risk, but the same idea. Although, if I had a choice, I'd choose Taboo or Codewords over either. They're just a lot more interesting (for me, anyways).
Bruce Springsteen seems like the obvious choice for NJ, but something from Fountains of Wayne's "Welcome Interstate Managers" might've been nice. Maybe "Bright Future In Sales"?
Similarly, I was thinking "New York City" by They Might Be Giants for NY, although I admit that the feel's not really right for the state as a whole. But, I used to go to see TMBG in concert in the city every year with my high school friends, so it's also a personal association. Or maybe Simon and Garfunkel's "Only…
Just reading about this documentary has me itching to go hug my kid. I dunno if that's a hormone thing, but it's definitely visceral.
In the tree, part of the tree? (Yes, I know I changed cartoons there :) )
Can I go home now?
If they've got 1 woman to every 33 men, then the pitch numbers won't be even. That doesn't mean that they don't have a problem, just that the problem lies further upstream.
"As in, I wonder what happened to the Oneeders?"
We went to see it in the theaters as a family, and really enjoyed it, but my mom wanted everyone to know that nothing that cool ever happened in Erie (I got the impression that she did *not* have a fun time when she was in college there).
That was one of my favorite jokes in the movie. Even in the credits, he's just T B Player.
