I quit reading when Jordan spent a whole damn chapter describing what Elayne was going to wear to lunch. I don't have time for that crap.

He's too busy watching football.

I agree with where you've gone so far, Murray. The first book was choppy and felt like a role-playing mix-up, while the next 4 or 5 books were fantastic. However, I've been stuck in Toll the Hounds since it first came out, and I can't make myself finish it. I've been distracted by Gene Wolf and the Black Company

I'm not sure about that. I think you could hand that first issue to anyone and they'd be moved by how well Cooke told the Losers' story. I remember sitting back almost stunned after I finished that issue. The series remains one of the few I'm willing to own in multiple formats.

Excellent call on Gotham Central, but at least the spiritual kid Criminal made it. Sleeper was quite excellent too, and was published in the last decade, right?

The only Luna Bros. stuff I've read was Ultra, and it was so generic and bland I've passed on their other series. Mistake?

Sea Guy, Walking Dead, and Top Ten do deserve some consideration. They were all fantastic books.

"It sounds like you have a real vision on how you'd like it done, so why don't you take the first stab at it?"

"I'm still Daddy's FANCY BOY!"

Actually, I think Dumbledore has it right. It is more insulting to say "horse."

I think there was an Army of Darkness comic that had the original ending and actually had more of a lead in for future stories. I seem to remember one of my buddies in college having the issues. Painted covers and such… probably a Dark Horse book, I'd imagine.

I think my most quoted are "Hellooo Mr. Fancy Pants!" and "It's a trick. Get an axe."

The aliens in Knowing were racist.

I liked Jenna's nonsensical flashback too. "What play was that from?"

I need to confirm this, but I heard Wolfman's got nards.

Oh man, those little grunting demons in The Gate were spoooooky! I used to be horrified of them.

How can you say that? "I will celebrate his life with a bowl of cherries and ghost meat" was pure genius.

Wow, I too missed Oscar as Palin. Oscar is cracking me up this season. They must be giving him more lines or something. That bit where he's afraid of Jim was gold.

And of course, you can't truly appreciate Hellboy until you know your Lovecraft.

Ah, Castle Freak. One of my old favorites. Between that and the Bleeders, that was a good era in monster movies.
