No, Fox was unaware of how cool AD was while they were airing it.

We're over them, thank you.

I was about to post this exact comment. "The Spine Surfs Alone" is full of great tossed-off TMBG.

Here's hoping there's an extended segment on Fixda Fernback. Too obvious?

Comment deleted after reading the rest of the comments :)

I think a big part of its popularity is that it doesn't give in to the cliche sugary stories of so many 80's cartoons for girls. It's emotionally honest.

I agree, Monster! That gave me goosebumps. I can't believe I have to wait a week before it goes on Hulu!

When did this discussion take place?

You know, I tried Torchwood Season 1, liked the first episode, then lost interest. I tried the first episode of Children of Earth, and that seemed better, but I never went back. Does CoE get worse? It seemed like a cool idea.

I still remember the big "Seinfeld Finale" party I went to that night. Lots of anticipation beforehand. Afterwards, everybody seemed actively angry at Jerry Seinfeld. The whole thing just came across like a big F—- YOU.

Yeah, I didn't read it, but from what I understand, that book did away with everything cool that was done with Sisko, completely chucked Elias Vaughn (who was a good character) and severely flubbed Spock. Plus, it had to flash forward something like 10 years from the previous book, only to bring it into sync with the

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or accusing me of being insensitive. It might not have been so funny if it hadn't been so badly written.

But you really hit the nail on the head when you said:

That Worf monologue was one of the most unintentionally hilarious things in DS9's entire run.

You picked a good time to lose track of the series, @avclub-92a4841c9f86965effbc29fa6eae9f77:disqus . There was one awesome book "Warpath" by David Mack, but that left off on a "To Be Continued", and the two books that resolved it were awful. The one about Rugal was kind of a late aberration.

That was me. I recommended "Unity" for the return of the parasites from TNG's "Contagion", and someone else recommended you read "Avatar" first. Just stay away from the horrible "Mission Gamma" books.

If you feel a little short-changed that we never find out how Rugal adjusted to life on Cardassia, you should check out the novel "The Never-Ending Sacrifice" by Una McCormack. It's pretty thoughtful and dramatic, plus you don't need knowledge of any other Trek novels. The biggest selling point of the novel is that

Did you just say the first three seasons of Family Guy were perfect??? I mean, I liked them, but come on.

Well, half of us seem to think it worked out great. The other half agrees with your irony.

I read this Newswire story in the park. You know, the one where the kid found the severed hand.
