I heartily agree with you on Join Us, my favorite TMBG album in a long time. It misses the beat a few times towards the end, but I think Three Might Be Duende and You Don't Like Me are both very strong.

FYI, there's a pdf that comes with Album Raises New and Troubling Questions that you can print out to make a table top version, but it only comes with the digital version from their website. I thought they were joking when the directions said to set your printer to 3400%, but they showed me!

As a former math grad student, I can attest that there are plenty more math students with psychological problems than without.

Maybe it's a matter of taste, but I thought the first episode and last two were the only good ones of that season. It just felt to me like the writers didn't have a good idea of who they wanted the characters to be or what kind of stories to tell. But with the season 2 opener, they locked down a lot of that, opening

Hooray!

Good write-up, Zack. Can't wait to see what you come up with for DS9! (Please be patient with the shoddy first season, BTW.)

I read in an interview somewhere that they chose "Insurrection" as a title just because it sounded cool and looked good on the poster. It would've fit the much-superior Michael Pillar early script.

The B- grade bugged me at first, because I really, really love this album. But I can't really disagree with anything here, and the dud tracks aren't that great. I guess the good stuff overshadows the duds for me.

When I first saw it, I thought "Preemptive Strike" was a great episode. Going back and re-watching it now, I get completely distracted by the clunky storytelling. Why do Ro and Picard have to meet in such a sneaky way when she communicates so openly with them at other points? Why is it so easy to just insert Riker

If you don't like it, I've got fudge!

Good thing you went through the trouble to post, just to tell us you don't have an opinion!

I know what you mean! I did a double take…"The Swell Season released a C album? That's unpossible!"

Since the show's been cancelled, yeah, you can stop doing that.

We already know: they were a cheap gimmick to drum up interest in the show. Sure worked, didn't it? I'm sure they never actually intended to show nudity, whether on TV or DVD.

You mean, she's not?

Careful what you say! Mario Lopez might label you a Hater and come after you!!!

…which means you think it deserves a higher grade, or lower grade? Or are you just joking about the arbitrary nature of these grades?

"In my day, we cared about whose ass it was, and why it was farting!"

One quibble about the camps: you're forgetting those who like a handful of shows and hate everything else. Should we call them the Picky Eaters?

That's not a bullet, it's a button. Push it every 108 minutes, or else.
