I think Marvel characters are more iconic now, after the films. Before, I'd say they were pretty even. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman/Spider-Man, Hulk and maybe Captain America. Beyond those, you're pretty much a nerd until "Iron Man" came out and changed everything.

It's hard not to think about it when watching Zap Brannigan on "Futurama," although Billy West does absolutely knock it out of the park. But Jesus, Hartman would have been amazing in that role.

This is indeed a disturbing universe.

That does make think of my first pop culture crush; stupid sexy Flanders!

Except now I'm imagining an epic Gozer/Groot-vs.-Space Pope cosmic battle. Unless you're like the regular pope and just a normal, if weird, old guy.

It's a somewhat fair criticism if you weren't a regular viewer — you could stumble into one of those scenes pretty easily and come away with that impression — but man, that description does not fit DS9 at all.

Yeah, isn't there something in Episode III about forbidden knowledge one of the Sith guys created a billion years ago, about resurrecting people? Do I have that right? That could be a cool story: the very first Jedi fighting this dark wizard who is reanimating dead people.
