All I'm saying is that this has the potential to be an interesting discussion about why popular and/or critically respected songs may not be as good as they are generally accepted to be, but instead its mostly dumping on one hit wonders or complaining about overplayed songs.
This is why my favorite of these is still the take on "Imagine." It's a highly regarded song which the "hater" turns a critical eye towards. Much better than "I hate HOTRS because it reminds me of lame classic rock stations." Also, are the AVClub staff required to agree with the interview subjects on these things?…

"Bert Macklin is my father?"
Doctor, I knew Mr. PiBB. You sir, are no Mr. PiBB.
I refuse to believe that is real. This is an AVClub myth like the Dan in Real life sequel or Bronies.
If humans could lick their own genitals I'm not sure TV would have been invented.
One of my favorites, from the Jack Frost review: Now we have proof: It's possible for the Jim Henson folks and Industrial Light and Magic to put their heads together and come up with the most repulsive single creature in the history of special effects!
hahahaha, i had completely forgotten that that essay was in there. ok, maybe a required college freshman seminar.
The tennis parts didn't wear me down nearly as much as the political stuff, like the history of O.N.A.N. and subsidized time. I can't say I spent the second half of the book wishing it was longer, or if I did so it wasn't because I wanted more writing, but because I wanted more resolution (even as it was slowly…
Finally finished Infinite Jest this month. Looking to read Building Stories next (I need a break from just text after IJ). I see on Amazon that its out of stock. Any of you know if that's just a temporary thing or if this was a limited print run and I should be ehading over to eBay or some secondary seller?
Finally finished IJ this past month. Curious how far you are into it, as with pretty much any book that length there are tough stretches and absorbing stretches. Also with multiple plot threads there are some that you'll find engrossing and some that when you see a character's name you just want to put the book down.

This and the Amanda Bynes vagina murder form a strange Newswire one-two punch.

I object!
NBC could just save money by showing repeats of old Stern WWOR show. I would at least DVR that.
I have to disagree with that characterization. While I don't think IJ is a "page-turner" in the classic sense, and I've found a lot of it to be tedious or simply failed experiments (see, for the former, most of the political satire, O.N.A.N., Great Concavity stuff, for the latter, the Wardine section, which I'm sure…
