I just have to say that watching that with the sound off (I'm at work) was one of the most scarring experiences I've had on the internet. It was like watching a David Lynch Saturday morning cartoon.

I do think the use of second person perspective is pretty clever. You have to read some sentences a few times, but it gives the sense of being inside Cromwell's head while still seeing all that he doesn't know.
I read Wolf Hall and BUTB back to back and now can't wait for the third book. Thomas Cromwell is just such a compelling character, and it's amazing that Mantel can create such tension when the reader already knows how things will largely play out.
I'm tackling it too, finally. Huge fan of DFW's essays and felt it was time to tackle the beast. I'm a little over 200 pages in , and basically its becoming my daily mental workout. Somedays there's great passage or the equivalent of a runner's high and other days its just a slog.
