Believe me, all this stuff leads to Radagast the Brown eventually.

I worried about the same (and still constantly remind my daughter to be gentle on the pages when reading it).  The paper is high quality and has held up through a couple months of reading/constant flipping.

I've just started buying the Carl Barks books for my daughter (3) who loves Disney.  The comics are a little too wordy to read aloud, but she loves leafing through the pages, asking me "what's this, what's that".  Fantagraphics really did a great job with the reprints, the art really shines, and for the adults there's

What about-Sting, Season 16, Episode 11.  Right in the middle of SNL's second great run, terrific Sinatra Group and Wayne's World sketches and "Bad Ideas Jeans"

Just checked James Patterson's wikipedia (only vaguely knowing who he is).  He has authored or co-authored 13 books this year alone!  Must all be very high quality.
