I liked Half Nelson, but he was in some fairly lousy movies earlier in his career as well: Lars and the Real Girl, the Notebook, etc. He's been much more consistent lately.

I've always thought they were criminally under-appreciated. But seeing as how I lived in Chapel Hill for 8 years (and in that general area for even longer), maybe I have warped view of the world?

The top tier. I consider these first 3 to be almost equal in quality to one another, although I stand by the ranking. I never understand why at least one of these albums doesn't regular appear on "best albums of 90s" lists:

I'm a little surprised this didn't make that list of great albums with terrible cover art that the AV Club published a few weeks ago. Both Foolish and No Pocky for Kitty, which I consider the two great Superchunk albums, would've been strong contenders.

I'm guessing he's not gonna be a fan of any game that exhibits screen tearing.
