Honestly, what the fuck is wrong with people.
Even stranger (though possibly less frustrating) is when it's something that they've suggested watching. Some buddies of mine were really keen to get together and watch each new episode of Breaking Bad when it came out - and then spent half the time just aimlessly looking at their phones. Mind-boggling.
I don't really see where you're coming from here. There's a lot of content on there, and whether you find it funny or not they obviously put a lot of effort into capturing the style and tone of these sites. It's a fairly elaborate parody - check out the "What is Clickbait?" article, for example.
