No one ever gets offended by words, they get offended by the meaning those words convey. They're a medium, for christ's sake!

"But nowadays any time I hear someone whining about "political correctness" it is nearly always code for "I am about to act like a racist and/or homophobe or at the very least a colossal douche, but if you call me on it, it has to be something wrong with you"."
I see it as a spiritual cousin to the "you've got dead ears, mate" meme.
*puts on Country House*
Fuck yeah. I would watch the shit out of that!
I don't think it's necessarily a case of forcing yourself to listen to something - maybe if it's a band you really like, you might make yourself to listen to a disappointing album in the hope that it will get better. But in a lot of cases when I've had a negative reaction to something, it's because it's unusual or…
I remember listening to the New Pornographers' Twin Cinema and being totally underwhelmed. A year later I cranked it and couldn't believe I was listening to the same album - now I love the shit out of it! Similar gestation period for In the Aeroplane…
Bought the first Mr. Bungle album when I was sixteen, and hated it so much I returned it the next day. Two years later I downloaded a few tracks out of curiosity (I barely remembered the music, just my reaction to it), then the whole album, then started thrashing it mercilessly, then bought it again, then listened to…
No way degallo isn't a troll. I think it's some parody of inane firsties or something.
That was pure gold.
I would love to see that. However, I'm pretty sure Lobsters' prediction will actually happen. Eerie.
"That would be some long division… Long."
(That was for Healthy Kitty, btw). I'm a big fan of HTTT too, by the way, surprised to see so many people rank it so low.
Wow. What a dick.
Yeah, this whole theory about how the last track is called 'Separator', and it contains the line "if you think this is over, you're wrong", etc. It would be cool if this is part of a larger project, since I was a bit disappointed with the album. But maybe not.
Or maybe they genuinely like the album. Christ.
And Pablo Honey's not a *terrible* album. There are some good tracks on there, and it's interesting to hear the genesis of their sound. It's just up against some very strong competition, that's all.
Surprised to see so many people ranking HTTT so low. It seems like a lot of Radiohead fans weren't too impressed with that one - I love it, personally.
Plus, if you were on dial-up, downloading a whole album would be really facking slow. So yeah, I was the same - would download a few tracks (which would still take a few hours), and then if I dug them I'd go out and buy the albums. Never would've heard the sweet music of Mr. Bungle otherwise!
Baha Men are Grammy award-winners. Why the fuck would anyone spend more than a microsecond thinking about the awards on a serious level, let alone take out a full-page ad? What a complete retard.
