My father getting me the four disc "Crossroads" box set by Eric Clapton would be my example of that sort of gift. And no shit, the box set ended up with him anyway.

I'll agree to that!

To me, it feels like opinion of them has gone to more positive overall. As a kid in the late 70's and 80's, the Beach Boys were kind of a joke: a bunch of old guys singing about surfboards and so forth. I can remember a lot of my friends in that era hated them. My father, said Clapton aficionado, liked the Beach Boys

You must be the bass player in my father's band. My old man would agree with you, although I think you're fucking crazy. Not to mention they would recycle the riff in brave Ulysses into White Room.

Same here. My earliest childhood memories are of the White Album playing on our old record player. We eventually upgraded to a huge all in one console that also had an 8-track player.

Well put. I always found it very overrated, exceedingly pretentious and the worse sin of all, kind of dull.

Ooh…that's fucking tough. Can I use the live concert album from Ziggy where he plays a lot of songs from both?

No, it's the double tape I got that had #1 Record/Radio City by Big Star. Which is cheating a bit, but as that's how I first heard them I somehow merge both those albums into one.

Valid point: I think it was more the sheer volume of the swing revival, although I did love the film Swingers quite a bit.

I wasn't as thrilled with the swing explosion - I like Rockabilly dammit! In all seriousness, as someone who was a kid in the 70's and loved Sha Na Na, Happy Days and everything 50's, I thought the Stray Cat's were the cat's meow.

I was more of a Ventures guy, but I also grew up knowing 'surf rock' as my Father was a huge fan and even owned a Mosrite guitar. So I knew Dick Dale and that scene, but I have to admit I was pretty surprised when it blew up after Pulp Fiction.

I want to express my admiration for Laura Dern as Sue. She is fucking perfect as his wife, and hits the right tones of anger, weariness and even love. Sam Rockwell is the secret comedy weapon, but Laura Dern and Sue are the real heart of this show. Her delivery of almost every line is perfect, and sometimes even

Sam Rockwell fucking KILLS it in this show.

You mock, but I've said that line in anger to my wife before. It's not funny in real life, but I absolutely cracked up when it was said in the show. I FULLY got the joke.

No problem (knock on wood) with my joints. I can honestly say I felt a lot better after 3 months of it as well. I didn't go full bore at first though: I definitely was doing maybe 50 to 60% of what the vapid in shape zombies in the video were doing. I can't say I wasn't sore after doing them, but if anything as the

The secret is to land and roll without dislocating your shoulder.

Maybe not going up: but you could go down them relatively easy.

Same here: after my third daughter was born I went on a strict diet and began doing P90X3 every morning, with jogs at my gym at work for lunch. It worked for a good year and a half and I lost about 35 lbs, most of which I've now put on in the last year.

Roll the tape…
