I was so sure this was going to be the episode where Kristina dies. I was anticipating a musical montage with Haddie and Max watching Kristina's farewell video. Now I'm about 65% sure she's going to make it.

That was the first thing I thought of.

Wow, I want one of those. Although it might have been sad to have a lunchbox of a show that was cancelled so quickly.

One of my favorite parts is when they actually leave the playhouse to go ice-skating and play in the snow. I'm reasonably sure it was the only time we ever saw the outside playhouse other than the opening. And the Del Rubio triplets!

It wasn't aired as an episode of the weekly Pee-wee's Playhouse series (at least, not originally). It was actually a prime-time special. According to the unauthorized "history of Pee-wee" book that came out a year or two ago, it was a ratings disappointment, which is baffling to me.

There was that one glorious season of television when Pee-wee's Playhouse, Hey Vern! It's Ernest, and The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley were all on Saturday mornings. Those guys were my idols.

I seem to recall an interview somewhere (maybe on the DVDs?) where Jerry Nelson said something to the effect that Gobo's voice was basically Robin with a Canadian accent.

One of my favorite Junior Gorg moments: Some Fraggles are hiding under a basket in the Gorgs' garden, and then Junior comes along and sits on it, trapping them. After a while, Gobo calls to him, "JUNIOR GORG!" And Junior's eyes go wide, and he says, "My BOTTOM is TALKING to me!"

Even the one with Pam Dawber as the Little Mermaid?!

I always loved the show, but "The Terrible Tunnel" really was disturbing. Sir Blunderbrain never got out! And then when Wembley stumbles upon the tunnel, I kept expecting him to find Sir Blunderbrain and rescue him, but there's no sign of him. Spooky.
