Apparently Road House was one of the most played movies on cable this past summer (it was primarily CMT and AMC showing it constantly). Hopefully he was being properly compensated for that before he passed.

Point Break does indeed own, but I'd put Road House a couple notches above Point Break on the ownage scale. Your Level-Of-Ownage May Vary.

On the subject of good narration: Dexter has the best narration on television, easily.

It sounds like you have a beef with foley artists in general.

I love screwball comedies as much as the next guy, but I think we can put that genre to rest. Pretty much every modern attempt to recreate the 30's screwball style has been met with a lukewarm response. While some have their merits (I'm a big fan of The Hudsucker Proxy, and I can enjoy parts of Intolerable Cruelty),

Exceptions: Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers

This just makes me think of Kramer's appearance on Murphy Brown.

Other than racing and fighting games, I can never play with them because I just end up being completely obliterated. As a result, I tend to stick to the strictly 1 player games (Portal, Braid, Mirror's Edge,

I'll Back Up Josh.
I had the same experience with Blade Runner. The hype had built up so much over the years that when I finally sat down with a bunch of friends to watch it, I couldn't help but feel very underwhelmed. Of course, it probably had more to do with my expectations than the movie itself, but it was

Looks cool, but…
… does anyone know what this is about?

Just finished it. Totally worth watching. Download/Netflix/purchase immediately.

Watching This Right Now
Just watched the scene with Rea trying to reach the cell phone, and trying to get the piece of wiper blade out of his side. This movie is absolutely brutal, and I'm loving it.

Seconded. Friend of mine recommended it on the basis of "it's the scariest movie I've ever seen." After watching it, I had to inform him of how big of a pussy he is.
