I once made my (now ex) girlfriend watch Oldboy.  She loved the movie, but didn't even want to sleep in the same bed as me that night.  I couldn't blame her for that one.  She later got back at me though, in the form of Hard Candy, during which she cheered on a certain gruesome scene (if you've seen the movie you know

I'm not sure who I hate more, Pete or Betty.  Everything about those two makes me quake with rage, but they're so much fun to hate.

Seriously, when will that guy stop talking about Batman?

DON'T YOU HATE PANTS?!?!

Yeah, I figured it was about Saint Louie. I haven't seen the pilot but everything I read about it said that it was one of those "some schlub who constantly behaves like an ass has a hot wife who inexplicably tolerates all of his bullshit" -type shows that CBS specializes in, so it fits the bill.

Woody Allen
Did anybody else get the sense that Louie was paying tribute to/parodying Woody Allen in "Bummer?" The Gershwin-esque score seemed like an obvious nod, but the whole 'awkward comedian goes on a date with someone who is absurdly out of his league' premise and the pretentious speech made it seem like this

I've heard that guy's ass has it's own congressman.

Uh…
"Network television and cable television as we know it are completely imploding, so we're not really sure that in five years' time we can release a dramatic one-hour episode because it is all reality TV now."

You might want to punch that into a calculator before you comment about one's shoddy arithmetic. It's 50.

Studio albums: Discipline, Larks' Tongues In Aspic, Red, In The Court Of The Crimson King, everything else.

Got any messages for Jimi Hendrix?

"Titus Andronicus plays The Replacements"
I don't think anyone could come up with a better match than that.

He will be to Community what that guy who does the robot was to Chappelle's Show.

"DEAN, HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING DOPE INTO YOUR SCROTUM?!?!?! YOU CAN TELL ME, I'M HIP!!!"

"Our next movie features Sylvester AND Frank Stallone in 'Yo, Godot, I'm Waitin' Here!'"

Same here. Went through all 5 seasons over the summer.

I flipped to it about halfway through, saw the giant burger in the background, and laughed for about 5 minutes straight. Makes me so happy to have Conan back.

"-Star Driver (aka Lady Gaga directs episodes of Evangelion)"

I think Breaking Bad is different from Mad Men and The Sopranos in that the main character starts out as a good, mild-mannered man with the best of intentions, but his decisions end up defining him, and eventually lead him down a path of pure darkness. You probably won't like some of the side characters at first, but

Gotta disagree with you, Ellie. While the second season is indeed excellent, the third may be the best single season of television I've ever seen, the only competition for it being the 4th season of The Wire. It carries on the story from the second season perfectly, sending Walt and Jesse even deeper into the abyss,
