I laughed when Jackie Joyner-Kersee mouthed the words "one ween" as she walked off screen. However, that's mostly because I like pretending that Templeman and Olagundoye are simultaneously performing a much funnier and edgier sitcom whenever the cameras aren't on them.

Good point, but I feel the writers have simply decided to just completely ignore the fact that Burt is U.S. Congressman, since the reality of that would blow up so many plot lines: the family would be financially well-off, Kurt and Finn could easily get jobs/internships, Finn could at least be living in DC, etc.

Exactly. Mark Pellegrino's deadpan "terrific" when his second-in-command got shot (he was obviously mostly annoyed that he'd have to repeat his exposition to a new guy) was a good example of what this show needs more of.
