I think this could be enjoyable if they put more thought into (and had more fun with) what the future would look like (a la Firefly meets Idiocracy). Like with the clothes: instead of boring peasant garb and Matrix leather, people should be wearing all scavenged clothing — bridal gowns, Burger King uniforms, etc.
