Second viewing - who's the lady with the scars? Von Gunther?

Yeah I think the Greek myth portion of her backstory has to be included somewhere, and Ares is the perfect bad guy for WWI - war for the sake of war - and a traditional big bad for Wonder Woman.

In DC New Frontier, Darwyn Cooke introduced Wonder Woman standing on a table as Superman entered the room. It was only when Wonder Woman stepped down that we all realized she was taller than Superman.

Yeah, she really doesn't need the shield (which isn't even shaped like a hoplite shield anyway) because she has the bracelets.

I don't get that vibe, honestly. It still looks like Germans = Bad Guys to me.

I think part of the reason why people respond to the theme is that we all remember that moment in the awful, awful film when she appeared, the music kicked in, and she stole the show.

I think they would, actually. I just think it's a slightly more complex issue than changing the costume. Not that I would suggest the yellow and white number, nor the weird gray one with the headband, but the standard white, red, and blue without so much cleavage would be fine.

Kind of. She has a different personality than Supergirl, a bit more take charge and suffer no fools, quick to anger and quick to sock someone in the jaw, while Supergirl is more empathetic and even-tempered. And differently sexualized - despite flying all the time, Supergirl wears a skirt, frex.

1. The boob-window actually disappeared pretty quickly after her initial comic appearance. It returned decades later.

I meant that Steve is probably as much of a sidekick in this as a love interest, but hey, it can be two things!

Needs less sword and more lasso. But otherwise, that FUCKING ROCKED.

He also stood there looking sorry for himself while people writhed in flames and the ceiling fell in.

I felt feelings when she started blocking bullets. I'm not proud, but I am honest.

Hippolyta. Ovid was way ahead of Goyer on that one, headed him off at the pass about 2000 years ago.

Surprisingly (I know, guys), Power Girl is more than a suggestive costume. She's the tough, brash, older version of Supergirl who doesn't take crap from anybody.

That's the best we can hope for. There's even an Earth-2 in the Berlanti-verse too!

Well, they had plenty of Robin in the trailer for Batman '66.

I'm hoping so. I just really enjoy the world and setting. And like I said, it's so difficult to find a big budget, competently made fantasy film these days. I miss Ray Harryhausen.

The one with the airships and ninja Milady? Hard pass. Three Musketeers is historical fiction, not fantasy.

The book is very good, I agree. But it was Tim Powers, so no surprise there.
