Yeah, I'm enjoying some of it, but "redemption" is a ways off.

Say what you will about Jim Shooter, but he kept the trains running on time.

Yes. The post-Convergence relaunch #1, I gave a chance. It was the single worst first issue of anything I have ever read. So little explanation or exposition, or anything you expect from a first issue.

It all goes back to the Voldemort use I mention above. Because Alan Moore doesn't appear to want to give other people's intellectual property the respect he demands for his own.

I admit that my opinion on this matter is affected by my own personal views of Moore himself. Bill Finger I know nothing about beyond his contributions (read: invention of everything good) to Batman. Jack Kirby was so gifted and enormous a talent that, when one company hosed him, he could move on to another and create

That was my #1 fear.

Flash Gordon.

Adams had a gift for fun, silly names that just roll of the tongue. I like just saying "Zaphod Beeblebrox" to myself once in a while. Followed, of course, by "Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster."

George Lucas named his main character character Luke S.

But the PTA is NOT disbanded!

That was the joke, yes.

I hope even/odd. They should preserve the reading order whenever possible.

Helped, no doubt, by having Alan Davis do a lot of the art for him. I do enjoy re-reading Barr's stories, but whenever the homosexual informant shows up, for example, I have an air through the teeth moment.

Just kidding.

I gotta dig out my copies of the actual issues, but that's okay. I may even find some other gems I want to re-read when I do.

Starriors.

The original machines from the James Whale movies help bring that verisimilitude.

Then why not just wear jeans and a t-shirt?

In a sense, despite all the new #1s, Rebirth is a "soft" reboot. DC is keeping all the Nu52 continuity, they're just deciding what parts to emphasize and what parts to downgrade.

Mike Barr is - what is it the kids say? - problematic. I still enjoy his stuff, but always with a caveat.
