"What makes you think they're NOT?"
I dunno. Not that Big Bang Theory is some great collection of characters, but haven't those on that show grown at least slightly more than those on Modern Family? Puberty notwithstanding.

This also confuses me. What do networks still treat Nielsen like it's 1999?
The writers do their research, which I guess is admirable. But it's a shame they have to do their research because to me it demonstrates that this is just well done pandering thrown out every few episodes to appease those pathetic, self-loathing nerds and geeks and other sub-humans that still watch the show in between…
My parents are the same way. As you said, this is just CBS' core viewer base. Anything that doesn't grossly offend will get relatively huge ratings and subsequently win emmys. Meanwhile, Sunny is consistently snubbed and Louie, critical darling though it is, can't get decent ratings.
This is my parents. They actually watch it, but they'll watch anything they don't have to think too hard about. They also watch 2 Broke Girls and Two and a Half Men. Also Blue Bloods or whatever that show's called where the family gets blasted on whiskey at the end of every single episode because nearly every single…
No matter who's attached I can't ever feel good about something followed by anything to the effect of, "a new CBS sitcom."
"his increasingly spastic efforts at revenge generated drama in much the same way flailing in the produce aisle can generate a salad."
-cracked me up; perfect analogy.
I really need to see more of Dennis slowly realizing he's a full-blown psychopath, running with it, and totally becoming Patrick Bateman. FX is doing an American Psycho series after all…
I only just now realized Charlie is probably a virgin. Goddamn your innocence, Charlie!
Yes, which is why I'm hoping he does it again. He's allowed to do so more than just last season, right?
I thought David Conrad was Tahmoh Penikett's brother until I saw his last name was Conrad.
Gives me hope Tim Minear will rein back Murphy and Falchuck. Glad someone on here mentioned that.
But it's probably not the last season. If so, I'm sure we'll get a nice shot tacked on right at the very end of Lange with a beard and plaid shirt/axe combo to put a nice, narratively satisfying bow on it.
Though of course I'll be saddened by Troy's absence, I love Gambino and he really should be recognized as the talented voice in rap that he is. The dude's smart and for hip-hop heads he's worth noticing. He's been working hard in music for almost as long as he has in comedy and acting. I hope he keeps seeing success.
I missed Chelsea Peretti.
But is it better than Alphas?
