The writers do their research, which I guess is admirable. But it's a shame they have to do their research because to me it demonstrates that this is just well done pandering thrown out every few episodes to appease those pathetic, self-loathing nerds and geeks and other sub-humans that still watch the show in between…

My parents are the same way. As you said, this is just CBS' core viewer base. Anything that doesn't grossly offend will get relatively huge ratings and subsequently win emmys. Meanwhile, Sunny is consistently snubbed and Louie, critical darling though it is, can't get decent ratings.

Though of course I'll be saddened by Troy's absence, I love Gambino and he really should be recognized as the talented voice in rap that he is. The dude's smart and for hip-hop heads he's worth noticing. He's been working hard in music for almost as long as he has in comedy and acting. I hope he keeps seeing success.
