What's with the Boy Meets World slam.  You don't think that show had genuine feelings?

Because no one really cares about NRBQ anymore?

Can someone explain what exactly Karmin is?  I'm too out of touch with the songs they cover to get it.  Is it just a pretty white girl covering rap songs?  Do they change anything beyond that?

Sissy Boy Slap Party.

It's true for sure that Tarr is/was kind of the last person making movies
in this style, and that's hard to ignore when discussing the work. But, no. It's really good and engrossing.  It holds up to Bergman or Tarkovsky or whatever.  It also has a sense of humor that is kind of lacking in those mid century Art films.

You think that being smarter than Patrice O'Neal is more important than not being a misogynist.

But who would listen if it did not come from the mouths of comedians?
They are the only ones society "allows" to really say what a lot of us
feel and think, but are either not allowed to say, or restrain ourselves
from saying.

Leaning too heavily on the humor potential of dumb phrases is his other crutch.

The role of a writer is to strive to be classier than you monsters.

Yeah.  Tom was kind of struggling with the callers all night.  The show got great when Gary came out and he did the impressions.

I guess I'm saying I hate kids is all.

"We're sure all discussion of her in this role in comments will be

Because some of the criticism was phrased like this:  this bitch exists because of her rich father and it looks like someone smashed her lips with a brick.

Or he could keep his stories stupid and at least have a more interesting approach to beauty than rustling grass and the magic hour.

The first 10 minutes were pretty fucking good.

Does Hell Comes to Frog Town have a lot of it?  I'm really looking for
more aesthetic these days and American Auteur cinema is not filling my
needs.

He is "the most concerned with aesthetic"?  That's such a weird thing to say.

Well for me and a lot of people it didn't get big for that reason.  It got big based on the premise of "We're going to have every fucking dvd. You can watch all the movies!".  That was really powerful and seductive and no one seems to care anymore.

It's also absurd that we are going back to a world where aspect ratios are arbitrarily picked by the content provider.  And subtitles aren't really switchable.
