And if you like All the Pretty Horses, go for Blood Meridian next if you want something heavier and darker and more epic.  Definitely one of my favourite books ever.

I've read all of his books except for the earlier ones - before Suttree - and I would say for anyone interested in getting into his stuff, All the Pretty Horses is the best place to start.  It's not as unrepentingly bleak as something like The Road, nor as biblical and violent as something like Blood Meridian.  The

I literally guffawed when that happened.

Just watched it tonight.  I just about fucking DIED when Jake stole the donut.  And then Jake became a donut.  And then Finn was on the ground.

Anything can happen when two people share a cell, cuz.

Yeeeah… I feel like people are totally missing the point that the "themes" of these Grayble episodes are not, in fact, themes.  It's actually just like, "Here are bunch of creative, random vignettes, and here is a totally ridiculous, coincidental, beside-the-point commonality between them."
