Despite what i said above, i think it's really difficult to compare… this might be one of those conversations that should be left to those who really know their stuff (not saying you don't - but internet discussion threads don't really have those people so much, and there's a lot of ignorance and broadstroke…

Agreed. There's a real conversation here that's difficult to have - stability vs democracy.
