Point well taken.  My hope was he could elevate the material and make it his own.  Given the time constraints of the production, my hope was pretty futile anyway.  Remember the days when you had to wait three years or so for a sequel?  Good times.

I heard David Cronenberg was in contention at some point.  *sigh* What could've been.

This director does not enthuse me.  The series is heading toward an iceberg of mediocrity.
