"They all looked at me like I said I spent the summer killing hobos with a shovel" is the funniest thing I've read today. And I work in a library!

"Fortuosity, that's me own word,
Fortuosity, my never feel alone word"

Horsefellow! That you?

I don't  remember which movie I saw first, but the first one I saw in the theatre was Manhattan. What an incredibly beautiful movie.

Yeah, but if you're gonna bring anime into it, how about Azumanga Daioh, R.O.D., Evangelion, or FLCL?

And R.O.D.
Either one.

I once saw The Stray Cats play "Love is All Around" in concert.
And I use the Green Acres theme to kill other earworms.
Like, when you get the "It's a Small World" theme caught in your head-you know:
"It's a world of laughter a world of tears…"

Too shy shy

What's the thing where someone says that they agree with you and want to subscribe to your newsletter?
'Cause that's how I feel.

I don't usually like what passes for romantic comedies these days, but "Going the Distance" was a lot smarter and funnier than others.

My girlfriend and I and my daughter saw "Going the Distance" in the theatre, and quite enjoyed it.

And the words! Do the words have to be so long?

Futurama quote, if I'm not mistaken.

Mary Tyler Moore (Minneapolis)
I Dream of Jeannie (Somewhere in Florida)
Green Acres/Petticoat Junction (just down the road from Hooterville)

Boy, all of us in college sure noticed it! That smile, those eyes, those dancer's legs!

My girlfriend didn't go to grad school until she was in her late 20's. Then she got her MLIS and became a librarian in her 30's. It happens pretty often.

Oooh boy, let's all pretend that art still matters.
I Great-now all the people who click to look at this shit will be counted, and she'll say: "See? Look how many people my art has touched! Give me thousands of dollars to do even more stupid and pointless stuff!" And she'll get it..

It's the whole Rex Harrison thing.

"…plenty of questions about why most of domestic advertising is still directed almost exclusively toward women"
When I worked in radio, the philosophy behind advertising was that women controlled the majority of spending. That's why most of the advertising was aimed at them.

It is here!
