Gotta say, I couldn't disagree more with this review. Outside of the VO (which I hated about a quarter turn less than on Outlander) I thought the pilot did a fantastic job NOT romanticizing having cancer and instead focused on how these kids had to confront the reality of their situation versus "woo we're sick and

Actually, this was one movie that could've been longer — if they're going to spend the last 30 minutes on an unnecessary action piece, at least try to build a real relationship with Jonas and The Giver. The film doesn't even do that. Maybe being longer would have allowed it to.

Bless you, Lifetime.

Just wanted to join in the chorus — this show is sublime and I'm so happy it's on. Everyone should be watching.

Her standup is quite good, and while IAS hasn't been perfect, it's been improving considerably.

The M'Lady sketch was so wonderful… and I'm sure the comments on certain subreddits are going to be just charming.

I heart emoji this episode. Girl dancing, nail polish emoji.

To quote Beyonce fans: I just can't with this right now.

Watch out! That bear is anti-Semitic!

The reason why the show is now a weird hybrid Touched by and Angel/whatever show is probably less of what each showrunner wanted and more of what the network and studio wanted.

CAROLINE ARE WE SAVING THE REVIEWS?!

The love triangle is silly because Francis and Bash are both boring characters.

I really loved this episode. This show does a great job at coming up with creative ways of reinventing itself with 20-episode seasons.

I'm sure the AVClub can make room to review a myriad of shows in concert of one another. You'll be fine.

I really don't believe networks "kill" a show, but jesus christ, did they do this show no favors.

Well according to Wikipedia they did in… Portugal. So. Maybe that's where Slater should work next.
