Did I just blow your mind?  :P

Yep — we're sisters.  Sisters who share an identical crush on Mark Lanegan…

He has, for my money, the best voice in rock, so I agree that the stripped-down stuff that really showcases the vocals is his best work.

Black Pudding is a gem.  It's been a great year for Lanegan fans.

I know!  I saw this post about ten minutes after she left the house for her hour-long commute.  Poor thing — she's missing an entire listen-through of this album that she'll never get back in her life.

I got roped into watching Gunsmoke re-runs as appointment TV because of one line Kitty spat at a bad guy in her saloon.  I'm hazy about the plot, but I think a gang was holding hostages at the saloon and the gang leader was going on about what a badass he thought he was (or something like that), and Kitty just stared

@Scrawler2:disqus For some reason that all-farmers dating service bought up a ton of airtime during the national (cable) broadcasts of the NHL playoffs last year.  Which… I guess I realize hockey is a bit of a niche market, and so are all-farmers dating services, but are they the same niche market?

That's definitely the best way to give gifts.  At my house the chorus after opening a present is generally, "Thanks so much!  It's just what you've always wanted!"

Wow, congratulations!!

Oh my god!  That's fantastic!  The first thing I thought of when looking at that picture was the green aliens in Toy Story.  You need five or six more pugs in the backseat there, and then install a claw to pick them up with…

@avclub-6beb5f589a9fd04c21fcd50db3d9c80c:disqus, I don't even know who you are anymore.

Congrats!  That's a really beautiful dress!

I have had a fair deal of trouble with Smitten Kitchen recipes too, but for some dumb reason I keep forgetting that, letting my guard down, and ending up all cranky because the stupid cranberry-vanilla coffee cake I planned for Christmas morning didn't turn out and now we have nothing to go with our champagne while we

That's a tremendous relief to hear — I'm so glad you're cancerless!

I'm glad to hear that someone else here is inspired by the other TI fitness buffs.  It was actually the fitness threads here that got me started on working out in the first place, but I feel sort of strange admitting to people in real life that I suddenly got a hankering to get into shape (literally for the first time

@JudgeReinhold:disqus Well, now I know who to call when two JudgeReinhold clones show up and start causing trouble…

The whole "bartering with oneself to keep running" thing is fascinating to me.  For some reason I can go for nearly unlimited amounts of time on an elliptical if the timer is counting up (I find that my brain works in 2.5-minute intervals, so, like, once I hit 22:31, my brain's all, "Yay!  We've made it to 25

I work out with a trainer once a week, and she also swears by planks.  She says they're simply the best and most effective core exercise there is.  Of course, I completely suck at them.  I can only hold them for 25 seconds, and even that is a challenge when I get to the third rep.

This has been the worst summer for bug bites for me.  I literally can't go outside for even a second without getting bitten.  Just walking from my back door to my car in the driveway no more than five yards away, I'll get two or three new bites on my hands, wrists, or ankles.  A few weeks ago a mosquito got into my

Whoa — brown butter rice krispie treats?  That's BRILLIANT!
