Hot turkey sandwiches are the entire reason for making Thanksgiving dinner.  In fact, we like them so much at Casa n Dick that we make Thanksgiving dinner again on Christmas Eve, so the hot turkey sandwiches can be eaten for Christmas dinner.

Congrats on the running!  And on getting past 40 pounds lost — that's really impressive.  I hit 20 pounds this week (having started working out on June 1), and am under 250 for the first time in about 10 years, so this whole "exercise" thing is making me feel very accomplished.

Oh my god, that post-brushing picture is hilarious!  That's, like, two dogs!

Happy birthday!!

Happy birthday, and good luck outrunning Father Time!

Your dog is so adorable!

My dad always made a huge deal about the "stupid dad" trope, and consequently wouldn't allow us to watch The Simpsons or read Berenstein Bears.  He died almost 20 years ago, which says a lot about how pervasive a thing "stupid dad" is.  (I have since remedied not watching The Simpsons, and am sorry he never gave it a

It's my sister's birthday celebration this weekend, so I'm looking forward to finally getting to enjoy all the presents I've gotten for her.  Um, because they're totally for her, and not at all things that I really wanted.  ::shifty eyes::

Happy birthday, happy bachelor party, and happy envelope stuffing!

Since @avclub-58deef2e771fccf51741836cedecf5e8:disqus and I literally have the same music collection, I second that.  Mark Lanegan is creeping up there in number, too, though.  He's giving Patton a run for his money.

HAHAHAHA!  That's a hell of a segue there!

My desk is also freezing year-round.  I have often contemplated bringing a lap robe to go with the cardigan that I keep here, but the idea of sitting down at my desk in the morning and pulling a blanket up over my lap is kind of depressing.

YES!  Escalators are terrifying!  I'm lazy so I'll often take them instead of stairs, but that doesn't mean I'm not white-knuckling it the entire way up.

Maxi dresses definitely look super-comfy (and I appreciate the "not having to shave your legs" angle), but they also make everyone look like a column with their widest point as its diameter.  So unless you're tall and willowy, it seems like far too disastrously unflattering a style to be as popular as it is.

I should have known you would beat me to this one.

I love that dress, and really love the houndstooth shoes.  I'm sorry you chickened out, because they're amazing.  (Have fun at the show!)

Ask them what they like best about working there, and what they like least.

Oh my god, I'm so sorry.  ::hugs::  That's my greatest fear every garden season.

Dude, that sounds like an amazing meal!  I wish I'd known you were eating so well, because I would have invited myself over.

I'm blaming the recipe for being poorly written, with shoddy technique.  The rice ended up literally completely uncooked, while the tomatoes were baked to the point of being no longer really solid.  (The recipe had a too-good-to-be-true technique of only par-cooking the risotto and letting the rest of the cooking
