Travel is currently ruining my life because my boss has to go to China soon, but only found out a couple of days before he was scheduled to spend two weeks traveling internationally.  So when he gets back next week I'll have four days to procure his visa.  I know it won't be a problem to get it, but this is just the

@avclub-e4854c5608c54d96a6b3f76b9414a746:disqus You know, it sounds like I should probably revisit it as an adult.

That's quite a foxy get-up!

I have to agree with @avclub-b31378bbfb701dc33efdb269aa01e844:disqus — if you're getting a Porsche (and I don't have the "Porsche = douche" issue some others here have), don't make it an SUV.  If your only Porsche option is the Cayenne, that's really not an option at all.  Go with the Audi.

Ooh, I'm glad to hear the rum cake went well!  Which rum part did you leave out?

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus Exactly!  You've got plenty more fingertips where those came from.

@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus There is such a thing as fast-food fried clams?  That might be the scariest thing I've ever heard.

I never really learned to eat cereal because my older sister had a milk allergy when she was a kid, so none of us ever drank milk or had cereal with milk in it.  My cereal experiences all involved bowls of the dry stuff.  Dry cereal sucks, but I never developed a taste for milk and can't stand soggy cereal, so…

You get to go to SXSW for work??  That's awesome!

For no specific reasons, the Gawker network doesn't often cross my radar, but every time I end up on Deadspin I end up whiling away hours.  I definitely love their approach to sports journalism.

Holy crap — that's terrifying!  I'm glad you're okay, but man, what a nightmare.

I've been listening to Slow Six ("Tomorrow Becomes You") and Wires Under Tension ("Light Science" and "Replicant") all day.  I only found out about Slow Six because the download code that came with our copy of "Replicant" on vinyl didn't work, so my sister emailed the record label to ask for some help.  They responded

True Grit had that effect on me too.  My mom brought it home from the library for me when I was, like, 13, and I started it but it didn't grab me.  So I shoved it under my bed, the way I did with all the books I didn't like but that the library might want back ("13-year-old girls suck" is the takeaway from this part

Secretary!  It's a field I highly recommend, for the unlimited internet access and tons of free time.

Good luck!

Spatchcocking changed my life!  Now a roast chicken takes just 30 minutes, spatchcocked, salted-and-peppered, and done at 500 degrees in a cast-iron pan.  It's a no-fail roast chicken treatment!

@avclub-230e46d19fe78a6c8dc715659a7188d7:disqus Did you read the NYT Magazine's article this past week about the science of junk food?  Totally fascinating and completely James-Bond-villain stuff!

@avclub-e57dbebc740250d2c4a370cf6ccb35f0:disqus Uhhh… "not-caloric-suicide"?

Congratulations on the new job and the big move!  Sounds like you've definitely got a newer, better life going on.

Thanks for that link.  What a creepy and awful company.  ::shudder::
