It would never, ever happen in a reasonable scenario. All he had to do

The cops turning off the radio and playing strip-poker in their underthings (including the cop sitting outside at "guard") are examples of Hawley's predilection for lazy band-aid narrative events designed simply to get to a desired outcome. It's difficult to understand how someone so intimately familiar with Breaking Bad thinks that the use of cliches/tropes in this episode is unusual. Front to back, BB played with cinematic iconography, and so has Better Call Saul so far. It's baffling for the reviewer to single it out here.

So, a fairly prominent member of the Dixie mafia (Duffy) can be simply coopted by a member of the Detroit mafia (Quarles)? And Quarles is allowed to simply murder Duffy's superior without any repercussions…?  These kind of fumbled details are a little too prominent this season, IMO.
