They claim that the edge is what we think Antarctica is, and that the governments of the world won't let you fly over, lest you discover the truth.
Why do they do this? Because a flat earth proves the existence of god (somehow) and underlines the exceptional nature of our world, which would thus make us feel special

No, your initial assumption was correct, they think everything's on one side.

More importantly, the movie Phenomena was phenomenal, whereas the movie Phenomenon is yet another reminder of how stupid the 90s were

I'm not a flat earther, but:
They don't think it flips over at night, they think it has a top and a bottom and we're on top. They think the sun is a relatively small artificial lightsource moving around inside a dome, and the reason you don't see it at night is because it goes a bit farther away, and light doesn't

The first game didn't have much longevity for me because the matchmaking always paired me up with people who were WAY out of my league, like I couldn't even get a move off due to all the juggling. Is this one any better?

I think there's precendent for that idea, sort of. In Superman: The Movie, when Lois dies, Superman breaks his father's edict to not disturb human history, by travelling back in time and changing the past. Which doesn't sound so bad, but he looks really pissed while he's doing it…you definitely get the impression that

I got one free with the purchase of a fancy remote control, and I gave it away…I don't know how people are comfortable living with those things in their house, tbh

I don't know if Dukes counts…I never saw the show or the movie, but the show's a comedy, right? This whole Jump Street trend seems to be specifically about making comic satirical adaptations of dramatic nostalgia-TV sources.

I can both not forgive her for the bad things she does, and feel bad for her if something bad happens to her, right?

Let's also not forget Starsky and Hutch, further proof that people really need to stop trying to 'adapt' old shows into satires

"That'll complicate his sexual tension with Stephanie, and by the way this is a closed set…"

the only way to win, is not to play

Well, who among us hasn't done a terrible thing or two? If my whole life falls apart I hope the general reaction isn't "yeah, but he was a dick in high school"

"Research suggests that condescension and passive dismissal won’t help change minds"

Well, last year the entire world found out that her husband was repeatedly, aggressively pursuing other women while she was pregnant. Now she recoils from his touch and lives hundreds of miles away from him…I'm not saying she's pure and innocent of all wrongdoing, nor, for that matter, is anyone. But I do sympathize.

I actually didn't see the movie until relatively recently, but my high school friends were such fanatics of the album that when I saw the movie I recognized every track. And those tracks hold up! Or I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Great movie too, Lynch is a genius and that's a fact

The opening sequence of TSWLM…I don't think the series ever topped it

This is maybe the biggest problem with the Netflix binge model: the time between seasons is just too long. People start to lose interest and wander off to other shows, because it's too long to hold anticipation.

Champing!!! CHAMPING

I don't know if this show was made with Ellie Kemper in mind, but if not, it's the best casting of all time. Nobody else could have that role, and Kemper could be doing nothing else.
