I mean, it's not a bad movie though. I probably made the wrong argument, because for example I really dislike Birth of a Nation but I recognize its importance. But Easy Rider…it's very of its time, but it's pretty decent. Great ending. Nicholson is good. Great music. DIY aesthetic. I just don't understand the hate.

It helps to watch it with a solid grasp of what was going on in film at that time and why it had a huge impact. There are multiple genres that sprang up just from the success of Easy Rider, it so completely changed the look and feel of American cinema…it's Citizen Kane-level influence.
