The problem with season 7 is that it does absolutely have some great episodes in it. The ones you've mentioned are all excellent, as are Orison and X-Cops, and the more traditional MOTW fare like Signs and Wonders, Brand X and Theef. But the bad episodes are so very, very bad, the absolute worst the show has ever done

Surely what constitutes good storytelling is an entirely subjective thing? These McCoy stories "don't deliver" or "satisfy" you, but they do for others. Clearly this all comes down to preference - I'd much rather watch a weird, ideas-packed McCoy story than a six-part Pertwee slogathon full of padding.

Except Ghost Light is fantastic regardless of its narrative issues and Battlefield is at the very least pretty entertaining.

The scene where Bell Boy kills himself is one of the most powerful and disturbing moments in Classic Who history; gives me the shivers just thinking about it. I love this story.

You can watch select episodes of season one and then go from there if that suits you better - it definitely starts slow (and there honestly are at least a few episodes you don't need to see), but there are some gems later on that you won't want to miss. The show has some shockingly brilliant episodes and is far more

Warriors' Gate is on DVD, part of The E-Space Trilogy boxset (it might be worth watching them in sequence?). Still, looking forward to The Greatest Show in the Galaxy anyway!

The main problem with The Pirate Planet is the rather drippy collection of supporting characters (basically anyone who isn't the TARDIS team or the Captain and Mr Fibuli). It's really enjoyable overall, but it could be better.

I think the good definitely outweighs the bad with Keeper, but I'm mainly recommending it because Tom's last batch of stories work especially well when watched in order - there's this growing feel that the end is nigh for the Fourth Doctor.

Make sure you watch the previous two E-Space stories Full Circle and State of Decay before Warriors' Gate. And after that watch The Keeper of Traken and Logopolis to round off Tom Baker's run.

Peep Show series five wasn't the greatest, but series six was much better and I found series seven to be especially strong.

Nathan Ford's Evil Twin - The New Adventures are a real mixed bag. Some are great, some are horribly dated and awful. They occasionally fall victim to that awful, early 90s make everything "XTREME!" thing in the first few years, and I pretty much hate what they do with Ace. But they also gave us the wonderful Bernice
