Nathan Ford's Evil Twin - The New Adventures are a real mixed bag. Some are great, some are horribly dated and awful. They occasionally fall victim to that awful, early 90s make everything "XTREME!" thing in the first few years, and I pretty much hate what they do with Ace. But they also gave us the wonderful Bernice

I have an undying fondness for Silver Nemesis just for the Doctor and Ace romping about the countryside having loads of fun, baffling Cybermen with jazz.

The ending is a bit of a mess, but I love it when the Doctor stops Morgaine from firing the nukes, probably the best scene of the story.

I'd say it was the main problem. I mean, the production isn't brilliant but it's serviceable, it's just… yeah, there's something really off about the direction, the entire story doesn't quite have the impact it should.

And then Light dips his finger in the "soup" and licks it clean! Amazing.

I like Battlefield too, mainly because of the special edition version on the DVD which improves on it quite a bit. It's a really cool story let down by weak direction and some questionable acting choices at times. Marc Platt's novelisation of it is fantastic.

Oh yes, I absolutely bloody adore Warriors' Gate, it's in my top five for sure.

The only thing you can do with Doctor Who is just to try it for yourself and see what you think. I'd suggest Remembance of the Daleks as a good intro, mainly because that story is really a big mission statement for the McCoy era and should give you a decent idea of whether you'll enjoy what it's got to offer or not.

Exactly, Ghost Light is just engrossing as hell to the point where the lack of watertight narrative doesn't really matter, certainly not to me. It looks amazing, the atmosphere is fantastic, every single supporting character is memorable, it has individual scenes that approach genius, there's lots of rich and weird

This is my favourite Doctor Who story from the classic series, it's like nothing else I've ever seen. I know it's not perfect narrative-wise, but there's just so, so much in it that I love.

That's true, although I think Revelation is the best thing Saward ever did simply because it's a lot less "macho" than his usual stuff. It's much more colourful and the characters are far more interesting and different to his usual stock mercenary types. It feels downright Robert Holmes-esque at times.
