As soon as the movie ended I told my friend how the trailer was perfect, showing just enough and leaving out big chunks of stuff that was important to the plot and such.

Caught a screening of Looper tonight in the Bay Area, was excited to check it out after reading the interesting premise and seeing the well put together trailer. Plus I'm a fan of sci fi and I thought Rian Johnson's Brick was great (Brothers Bloom underwhelmed me).

I don't always agree so much with a review, but I just saw this via Netflix instant watch and agree. The movie was nothing like what I expected, which I got over fairly quickly, but when you're mostly left with a relationship movie about 4 people you do not care for/haven't really gotten to know and some odd revenge…
I felt the same way afterwards, I was expecting a lot. It is one of the movies where I can see why people really liked it, it was shot really well and had some great performances. But it was interminable, and the ending really fell flat for me.
Boring
I caught this a couple months ago and liked it. I can definitely agree with British reviews and festival ones who say it reminded them of The Others (and more recently, The Woman in Black). Lincoln must have discovered the 36 hour day as well. Pretty amazing that he could study the law, work at that shop, seduce Mary Todd and fight vampires at the same time. Amazing.

Yea, a lot of people really expected employees at BBV to watch everything. I'd have to say "You know it would be literally impossible for me to watch all of these and also have time to work and such, right?" A lot also thought when it wasn't busy we'd stand there and watch movies.

I'm a masochist sometimes, where I'll watch a movie that looks awful and gets awful reviews out of some morbid curiosity (I think I also said this when I watched The Love Guru). The two friends and I who went to the screening figured we weren't doing anything else on that Tuesday night so we went. Luckily, I paid for…
