I think FYC was too close to home for Guest. It wasn't a "fake" world he got to create like the other movies, it was set in the world he actually knew and was obviously negative towards - so it just came off as mean whereas the other movies were sweet at their core.

Guest spots in Blunt Talk and Better Call Saul, both of which were outstanding, different and yet unmistakably Ed Begley. He's just fantastic.
