It's supposed to be in a good part of the Upper West side, and there's a bedroom that's off-set that we never see but we hear about.  Definitely not a shoebox, and even in the mid-90s that place would have been fairly expensive.  He's certainly an up-and-coming comic but before they get the series on NBC (and starts

There was that episode of Enterprise whose name I forget where Mayweather goes back to the freighter where his family lived. I think they said it was capable of warp speeds, just low warp (warp 1 or 2) and trips to neighboring stars took months rather than days.  Still an acceptable length of time if you're going on a

Like it.

And even if you don't hook up with her, be happy in the knowledge that nerdier guys can clean up in their late 20s and 30s, when bros start to go on a rapid descent.

It would be very hard to replace Garner, but what about Sam Rockwell?  I feel like he could pull off the white trash angle even if he doesn't come off as tough as Garner.

While I greatly enjoyed reading The Stand (let's all just pretend the mini-series never happened, OK?) I think it's maybe not the best comparison. I think for Stephen King, the backstory actually was the story - he set out to write about what happens when civilization comes crashing down, and he did a really nice job

Does it have a marble in it?

And when America actually does pull its collective shit together and punish a bad film, millions of European and Asian morons with no concept of what constitutes good taste inevitably make up the difference and the studio profits.

@avclub-3314f6f8715a1ce0080e77ea7b47f608:disqus - how about we do talk about The Running Man?  That sounds like fun.

It's a good thing the MPAA smoothed things over.

It's clever and I liked it - but towards the end of the series they started really overdoing it.  When your witty gaffe starts reliably producing eye-rolls, it's time to find a new one.

Apart from the wormhole it's hard to see any redeeming qualities to Bajor.  Is it ever explained why Cardassia was so interested in holding on to it before the wormhole was discovered?

I think this 3-parter is fine, it's not amazing and it's not terrible.  But what I really do appreciate is the writers' willingness to experiment with the concept of serialization.  I think it can be easy to take for granted serialized dramas these days - with the internet, DVDs, on-demand TV and netflix it's become

@avclub-38b1499febaaf938ab1bd279a5cd26ba:disqus Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense - Syrio was good enough that it has hard to believe Sir Meryn could have beaten him, but it's also hard to imagine Syrio letting Sir Meryn get away otherwise.

What appears to be the complete lack of Michael Ironside is enough to torpedo any interest I might have had in it.

SEMI-BOOK 5 SPOILERS
@avclub-07cbebc173aad442e9feb1513fb0e5d1:disqus  I know Syrio's death was ambiguous on the TV show but I always figured it was less so in the books.  Since it was Sir Meryn who went to apprehend Arya and fought Syrio, and Sir Meryn shows up pretty often afterwards (IIRC he actually makes it to the

I'm hoping a zombie Jon leads the Others and their zombie minions to victory.

WINTER SPOILERS

Yes.  That would actually be really fun too.
