Dread Ninja Roberts sorry, don't remember bladerunner well.  I read Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep before seeing it, and was not happy with the movie because I felt it left out all the meaning of the book, but probably worth watching again since I'm no longer a pretentious college kid.

maybe it didn't add to the story, but it added to the theme.  The whole movie is about creating life and the relationship to whatever created you, so having a hateful daughter in there who is not as close to her biological father as the robot he created showcases the dichotomy between giving birth vs engineering life.…

I guess I just assumed at that level of technology (they can create organic material that can evolve on its own incredibly fast) that having sensors built into them or their suits.  Maybe it was just the look he gave David, like he was checking out someone's new car.
