"Set up a trap"?  Elaborate!  I'm curious, and my dander is up.

No I love the AV club, I just hate internet message boards.  The only ones I usually read are the "Dan in Real Life" stories, which always make me smile on a gloomy day.

1) A "minority" group is any group that has a minority of power, prestige or privilege in a country.  It refers to unfair social practices and opportunities, not actual numbers; a far better term would be "marginalized group", but we use the term minority, so whatever.

Glad you asked!  I hate internet comment sections, which provide as much usefulness as a chocolate hammer.  But this really upset me, and I knew I would feel a little better if I got into a fight with strangers about it.

Perhaps, but then he told a chick it would be funny if she got gang raped.  That was the thing he did, after saying rape was funny.

So wait.  In this instance, comparing rape to getting custard on your collar makes you the defender of American liberty, and being upset about a girl being sexually threatened makes me a high-horse riding, comedy-hating, shrieking PTA member who can't tell what a "joke" is?

Man, I love the AV club, but I am finding the comments section to be a huge pain in the ass.

@avclub-0d4efaa2c9d1041eb9b8b5319eec8531:disqus  Hmm.  Did Louis C.K. threaten to have his daughter or, say, like 5 kids from the audience shit on you?  Are you in (at least some) danger at any given moment from being shit on by little kids?  Are you part of a minority who feels marginalized by such actions above all

In communication studies this idea is known as "magic bullet theory"—the idea that media (TV, movies, video games) are a "magic bullet" that are so influential the ideas in them will automatically be reflected in your subsequent behavior.  It is also very wrong and very stupid.

See, that's funny.  Sadly the fact that it is something funny severely reduces Daniel Tosh's chance of saying it, but there you go.
