When he went on a rant about "rape jokes always being funny, how can a rape joke not be funny, rape is hilarious," etc.   That's when he claimed that any joke about horrifying sexual violence is funny.

I said any subject and I meant it.  But Tosh wasn't making a funny joke, or even a joke at all, he was making a general comment in an "extended rant" that asserted "rape jokes always being funny, how can a rape joke not be funny, rape is hilarious," etc.
